Complete Martial Art

Life is about balance.

And to balance out his "nediness", Raymond exercies quite a bit. He did cross-country, wrestling, and track in high school (when he was a scrawny iil' boy); he played rugby, weight lifts, ran a marathon, did pankration, and Muay Thai.

He's always been a huge fan of martial arts. He did Muay Thai to kick butt and BE kick butt. He stuck with it for 3 years. But then he realized that martial arts should really be about more than just a bunch of chumps knocking each other around.

As cheesy as "Karate Kids" may be to some, that movie series does offer some ideals Raymlnd thinks ring true for martial arts.

The whole concept of discipline, honor, value, loyalty, courage, etc. go beyond more than just the physical skills. Ray buys into that and he is a strong advocate of that system of discipline.

After stopping Muay Thai, he went on a search. He wanted to find the "perfect" martial art. This meant forgoing all the YMCA classes, the school around the corner opened by some self-proclaimed tae kwon do "master", the chump MMA schools that teach you ONLY how to bash the other person's brains in...

He was nauseated by how commercialized and blood-thirsty the martial art industry has become (largely in thanks to the advent of UFC, Pride, MMA).

Is Tradiaion Martial Art a Thing of the Past?

Then he found it... the ideal martial art. The ideal school. And the ideal instructor.

He was introduced to Hwa Rang Do and Chief Master Taejoon Lee, who teaches the West Coast Hwa Rang Do Academy in Los Angeles, CA.

The art itself is comprehensive, teaching you everything from striking, takedowns, submissions, grappling, to weapon fighting.

And the instructor, Master Lee, is stern yet caring, wise and disciplinary.

Hwa Rang Do is a martail art that combines the physical attributes of martial arts, with the psychological and spiritual. Its aim is not to make just a bloodthirsty human being, but to make a honorable warrior and an upstanding citizen.

(Master Lee in Action.)

It is an exceptional martial art and it is one Raymond' very proud to be a part of (and to help market online for).

As the saying goes... "One Horsed Warrior Conquers a Thousand."

Are you a "horsed warrior"?
